New publications added to the wikiVBP Library

Centre librarian Michael Loughlin has supplied two new Values-based practice references for inclusion in the WikiVBP Library.

The Philosophy of Person-Centred Healthcare,
Mitchell D, & Loughlin, M

This book sets out a philosophical basis for person centred care, using work by Heidegger and Gadamer, and drawing on ideas derived from Aristotle and process philosophy, in an attempt to show how practice can be improved and how examples of person centred practice can be transferred between individuals and institutions involved in the commissioning and provision of healthcare.

The Dementia Manifesto
Hughes, JC & Williamson, T

This book represents a new turn in approaching dementia. It is a manifesto which sets out important principles about the nature of dementia both as a disease and as a disability and explores how a
values-based, person-centred and rights-based approach can be applied to every aspect of the experience of dementia.
