How can I get involved?

Home >> How can I get involved?

We welcome hearing from anyone working in relevant areas. You may want to become a Project Partner or get involved in a Network or Group, to propose an Advanced Studies Seminar or other meeting, or to send us something for the News and Notes section (for example if you want to advertise a meeting).

Who can get involved?

Values-based practice depends on effective teamwork – the Extended Multidisciplinary Team of values-based practice underpins Person-values-Centered Care

So we welcome hearing from anyone working in relevant areas of health and social care. This includes service users (patients and carers) and service providers (clinicians of different kinds, managers, commissioners, researchers, regulators, etc). It also includes those working in related areas such as law, education, housing and policy

If in doubt please Contact Us

How to get involved

Become a Project Partner

Becoming a Project Partner gives you a presence on the website making it easier for those with common interests to link up and share ideas and experience.

It also means you can be added to our partners mailing list to get an updates, News and Announcements by email.

A Project Partner may be organizational partners made up of groups, network or other organizations as well as individual partners. The leads for Organizational Project partners are often also Individual Project Partners in their own right.

For more information please go to Completing a Project Partner Profile

Networks and Groups

The Collaborating Centre supports networks of individuals and groups with interests relevant to the Centre’s aims.

Networks are self-organising communities of interest that bring together stakeholders with diverse experiences and skills. VBP Collaborating Centre Network members include (but are not limited to) Centre Partners

If you would like to join a network or group please contact the relevant lead as listed on the Network page

If you want to start a network or group please Contact Us

R&D Collaborations

Values-based practice has developed to date through strongly collaborative projects – see for example the training manual Whose Values? A Workbook the research on models, and the practice guidance on the Three Keys to a Shared Approach in mental health.

This is why the Centre is a Collaborating Centre – its core aim is to facilitate further development of the field through new collaborations between partners with complementary areas of expertise and experience

R&D collaborations are partly through Networks and Groups but there are also free-standing programs (for example on values-based surgical care)

If you are interested in joining a Network or Group please see above. To join an existing collaboration or to propose a new area of work please Contact Us

Advanced Studies Seminars and other Meetings

We have funding to support one-day Advanced Studies Seminars for up to twenty-five people wanting to work together on any cutting edge area of values in health and social care

You can see examples of up-coming and previous Advanced Studies Seminars the Meetings and Advance Studies Seminars section of the website

For queries about organizing other meetings please Contact Us
