This seminar will explore the current state of knowledge in the genetics of public mental health and likely developments in the near future. These developments raise a number of values-based practice issues including balancing individual choice with community benefit and the tensions between data-sharing and personal privacy.
There are also important issues relating to whiteness and race equality that stem from the ethnic bias in existing international bio-banks and the impact this has on the nature of knowledge that comes from them.
This seminar is presented in partnership with the International Society of Psychiatric Genetics.
The wikiVBP Reference Library aims to provide a focused resource of literature and other materials supporting training, research and policy developments in values-based practice.
