This Norms of Action and Belief in Practice (NABP) Network Advanced Seminar will focus on co-creation as a distinctly values-based practice. Particular attention will be given to the dynamic between explicit guidance and differently situated perspectives, including experience-based and training-based expertise.

Central questions include:

• What distinguishes values-based co-creation from co-creation based on rules, evidence, procedures, outcomes, or professional authority?
• What norms of action structure values-based co-creation (e.g. role-responsibility, shared decision-making, institutional habits)?
• What norms of belief guide or constrain it (e.g. evidential standards, guidelines, credibility differentials)?
• When norms and values diverge, what follows for co-creation as a practice?

The seminar reflects the NABP Network’s ethos by bringing into conversation theoretical and practical approaches. We welcome participation from researchers, practitioners, experts by experience, and policy colleagues, as well as perspectives on co-creation arising from healthcare, social care, community settings, institutional practice, and related fields.
