This one-day conference will explore the background to the Supreme Court Montgomery judgement 10 years ago and the impact it has had on shared decision making in healthcare since that time. Speakers include Lauren Sutherland KC, the lawyer who successfully took Nadine Montgomery’s case to the Supreme Court and Professor Jonathan Herring, a medical law expert from Oxford University.
This conference will bring you up to date on challenges to the judgement since 2015, changes in clinical practice and a view from a medical defence organisation on its implications for clinicians. It will include a view from patients and opportunities for discussion.
