The webinar will present a real story of a person who is faced with cardiac surgery, a cardiac ablation and asked to make a decision as to which route treatment they wish to pursue. The conversation was cold, scientific and delivered in a compassionless manner. The person was left feeling that no investment in his decision was made by the Dr and that the entire decision was his alone.
We will discuss this issue and start the process of building a framework for in action share decision making – one for a moment of acute care and one for a `safety huddle` approach.
