With continuing race inequalities in mental health – notably disproportionate use of compulsory treatment in young black men – the need for change has never been more urgent. This webinar is based on the belief that change depends on training initiatives being developed in co-production between practitioners and service users – this is why the webinar is about training ‘across the colour line’ in mental health. But co-production requires an equality of voices that, in turn, depends on those concerned coming together in the work of pre-production. As a scoping exercise, the webinar is a contribution to the pre-production required for co-producing training materials to deliver race equality in mental health.
