Brief Description of Work:
I began meditating forty years ago as a balance to my training as a P.E. teacher. As a primary school teacher I first taught meditation in schools during the 1980’s. Since the late 1990’s I have focused on the Chinese approach to meditation and incorporated it with the then growing understanding of how our body’s systems work through neuroscience research. Working full time as a meditation teacher I’m particularly interested in how to help individuals and organisations adopt practices which take account of how our body’s systems evolved and use that to support a balanced approach to health and well-being. I have found that one of the benefits of meditation is to help individuals and ultimately organizations to drop the barriers that prevent effective communication. This offers the possibility of creating more meaningful dialogues in complex decision making processes.
