Brief Description of Work: The General Osteopathic Council is the UK statutory regulator for osteopaths overseen by the Professional Standards Authority. Osteopaths work primarily independently with few employer or team arrangements. Consequently, the values used to frame, interpret and implement our standards are important for us to understand and make explicit. We are currently undertaking a series of advanced study seminars with a range of interested parties including patients, osteopaths, other health care professionals, academics and regulators to explore the mechanisms used to connect shared values and views and build communities of practice to support high levels of patient care and patient safety.
