Brief Description of Work: The Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care oversees nine UK health and care professional regulators and reports annually to Parliament on their performance. It runs an accreditation program for registers of health and care occupations. It is an independent body, accountable to the UK Parliament. As part of our work we promote research into the effectiveness of professional regulation, in order to build the evidence base for regulatory policy. We have a particular interest in the ways in which health and care professionals can be encouraged and supported to comply with regulatory standards.
