Assistant Professor Mental Health, School of Health Sciences

I am interested in how values for nursing and mental health practice are developed at undergraduate level and have led the development and delivery of a series of modules on person-centred nursing care. I have worked collaboratively with service users on a number of projects to develop partnership in the delivery of nurse education. I am also interested in decision making in mental health practice and have conducted research related to this area including examining the tensions that are created for professionals in mental health services dually responsible for risk management and enacting coercion alongside promoting recovery and choice.
