My research focus includes Global Mental Health, psychopharmaceutical and therapeutic cultures, and the quantification of mental health, and I have published widely on global mental health advocacy, the psychopolitics of austerity suicide, the psy-complex and international development, and much more – see Key Publication below. I am the Principal Investigator on a British Academy funded project looking at psy-expertise, technology and quantification in three sites (in India, South Africa and Australia). I am a member of the Editorial Board for the journals Critical Social Policy, and Disability and the Global South, and a member of the Editorial Collective for Asylum magazine.
