Psychiatrist based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, working across private outpatient practice (including teleconsultation), psychiatrist within the Brazilian penitentiary health system (PNAISP), and medical education as a teaching preceptor at PUC Minas. Postgraduate training in phenomenological psychopathology (Santa Casa de São Paulo) and neurosciences (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), with specialisation in child and adolescent psychopathology. Current research explores transinstitutionalisation in Brazil – the displacement of individuals with serious mental illness from psychiatric care into the criminal justice system.
