My research is informed by my interest in social justice and citizenship. I am interested in critical ecological and sociological understandings of ‘resilience’, ‘vulnerability’ in relation to communities which are marginalized, for reasons of mental health, disability, social disadvantage, political and social stigma. My work often analyses ‘spaces’ (both physical and metaphorical) in which collective forms of resilience, which sometimes challenge normative models of citizenship, are developed.
