Ilina Singh
Professor of Neuroscience & Society. Jointly appointed between Oxford Department of Psychiatry and Oxford Uehiro Centre (Philosophy)

I conduct research on the social and ethical implications of developments in neuroscience and psychiatry for children and families. I have been especially interested in investigating children’s self-reported experiences of ethical harms and benefits of psychiatric diagnosis and treatments, including psychotropic drugs. A core dimension of my work is developing a set of multi-disciplinary methods and tools to support young people’s capacity to report on their moral reasoning and their experiences of everyday ethics, particularly as this relates to normative models of child development, psychopathology, child wellbeing, socialization and intervention.
