I chair an academic Radiology department which trains residents and students and provides clinical radiology services at an academic medical center. My scholarship has ranged from clinical radiology to health policy to process improvement. The common themes have been respect for people and my desire to learn and continue to improve healthcare. I have built complex teams of different healthcare stakeholders who share these values and work across silos and organizations. Some teams are located in a common physical site, while others are virtual. Collaborations, change management and Lean has allowed our Radiology department to create an environment of innovation.
