I’ve had research papers published in the areas of Forensic Psychiatry and Application of Computer Science to Clinical Trial Recruitment and Retention. I am currently developing new models of care for secure and forensic psychiatric services. Traditionally, these services have focused provision on evidence-based and/or risk averse practices and interventions. Secure and forensic services operate at high cost and low volume and aren’t considered to me sustainable. Although the last 10 years has seen a superficial change to more collaborative practice with service users, very little has changed at the ward level, and services remain incapable of delivering little beyond basic, didactic interventions. My research is focused on developing new models of practice which are grounded in more collaborative, values based practice which places greater weight on patient priorities, wishes and values.
