Brief Description of Work: The Poetry of Medicine investigates the benefits of literary workshop discussion as a way of examining the difficulties of medicine, as well engaging with its pleasures. The project has been running successfully since 2012. We are currently planning a series of Design Days in partnership with the Collaborating Centre. Together, we aim to discuss ways of scaling up the project, and to find ways to give the realities of life in the National Health Service an effective voice at the highest level. We are committed to addressing the problem of professional burnout, which we know affects so many doctors.
